We'd like you to meet our newest little rescue pup, Harmony. She is literally fighting for her life. These pictures show a very sick little puppy. At the tender age of just three months, Harmony contracted the parvo virus as a result of not being immunized by her previous owners. She was dying and scheduled for euthanasia unless the vet could find a rescue willing to pay for her bills and treatment.

CSK9 answered that call. When we met Harmony, she was not moving, running a very high fever, and had no white cell count. She was vomiting and having constant diarrhea and was struggling with dehydration as she spent days in an Intensive Care Unit. Harmony is a fighter, and this sweet little girl is beginning to turn the corner. She is certainly not out of the woods, and continues to require constant care in the veterinary ICU. Her bills are mounting, and currently total over $3,000. CSK9 does not have the funds to cover her expenses. With your help, she can continue to receive the care she needs to give her the best chance at surviving this devastating virus.

Once discharged from the ICU, she will continue to require care in a regular veterinary hospital. Please donate any amount you can to help pay for Harmony's care. Send your contribution to: Harmony c/o CSK9, 550M Ritchie Hwy #256, Severna Park, MD, 21146-2925.

As a reminder, please properly vaccinate your dogs! For a mere $20, all of this could have been avoided. Instead, thousands of dollars later, a sweet, innocent puppy has been gravely ill and is still struggling for her life.

Update 8/7/05: Harmony has recovered and been adopted! Her medical bills totalled over $3700 and CSK9 is still struggling to pay them off. Please consider donating to Harmony's fund.

"A harbor, even if it is a little harbor, is a good thing, since adventures come into it as well as go out, and the life in it grows strong, because it takes something from the world and has something to give in return." -Sarah Orne Jewett, from "River Driftwood" (1881)
